Mission
Statement
Families and Professionals working together, sharing experiences, offering
information
and encouragement to create quality support and generate energy within
This project is
aptly named for several reasons:
-
Windmills generate energy using a naturally occurring force.
That’s true also when parents support other parents.
-
Windmills appear as a symbol of rurality; they stand alone. Here
in rural Minnesota, parents whose children have disabilities, do indeed
feel isolated and alone. In truth, though, when each one works alone,
incredible tasks can be accomplished, like the Dutch windmills that
reclaimed the land from the sea.
-
Windmills are one of the special and lovely things about Holland.
Parents networking together for mutual support, is one of the most
meaningful parts of our lives as parents of children with disabilities.
